At some point, the devastation and loss in the wake of the Haitian quake really becomes incalculable. The physical damage has been so pervasive, that we have yet to fully consider the massive cultural decimation, faced by a people with such a unique and compelling history. Nothing remains of the The Musee/Galerie D'Art Nader in Port-au-Prince, which housed the planet's largest selection of Haitian Art. 12,000 artworks were lost, at and estimated financial value of $30 million to $100 million, but the cultural loss really is impossible to assess.
